Premarital Counseling
Premarital therapy is one of our most sought-after services; couples want to make sure their relationship is as strong as possible before beginning the rest of their lives together. They want to make sure their promise to love “for better or worse” is indeed felt as real love by their partner. And most of all, couples want to open up and understand as many of their dynamics as possible in order to have a roadmap when things get tough.
Premarital therapy can also have a spiritual component, which we are trained in and comfortable providing. Please inquire about therapists who have spiritual understanding and training so we can best pair you with a therapist that will work in tandem with your ultimate relational goals.
Premarital Assessment
Some couples come to premarital counseling just wanting to make sure they can foresee future issues, but don’t have very much to talk about in therapy. This couple is the ideal candidate for premarital assessment. In a premarital assessment your clinical psychologist will go through a series of interviews and assessments to best understand where you both come from and how your idiosyncratic personalities will mesh and collide during a lifetime together. This can give a comprehensive overview of potential dynamics, which tremendously helps new couples weather the storms of life together.
